There were at least 9,350 Singaporean students in Australia last year; and since 2002, more than 32,000 Singaporeans have enrolled in courses in the land down under!

Australia has always been a popular education destination for Singaporeans because of the proximity and our familiarity with the country (many of us have vacationed in Australia!). Furthermore, the high quality of education in Australia, as reflected by the consistent high rankings for its universities and schools, has also attracted many students.

More and more Singaporeans are receiving world-class education in prestigious Australian universities and schools, majoring in such variety of fields as business management, accounting, medicine, IT, dentistry, among others. Some students are there because of the opportunity to study courses not offered back home. For example, there is significant growth in the number of students taking up allied health degrees in physiotherapy and speech therapy.
